DPW Statement on Governor’s State of the State Address

MADISON – Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Joe Wineke released the following statement tonight after Governor Jim Doyle’s annual State of the State Address:

“Tonight, Governor Doyle offered a clear vision to move Wisconsin forward – one that will grow our economy, focus on renewable energy, make health care affordable for more Wisconsinites, and keep our commitment to great schools in this state.

“Despite the failed policies of President Bush that continue to take a toll on all parts of our country, Governor Doyle is poised to meet the challenges we face as a state and make sure Wisconsin leads the way in economic development, all the while protecting our most basic priorities – health care, education, public safety. With Governor Doyle’s leadership, we can work together to foster innovation, seize energy opportunities, make heath care affordable, and build an educated workforce ready to compete around the globe.

“I applaud Governor Doyle’s continued leadership for this state and his plans to grow Wisconsin. Together, we can seize these opportunities and move Wisconsin forward.”
